If you would google "Download Games", you will find ‘bitcoin’ and ‘polish bank’ on Google's first page. However, may be a surprise for some people that neither of them is a website on gaming.
One extremely logical and convenient hypothesis in this scenario is that both websites may be the victims of hacking which mainly involve promotion of websites in Google and then redirecting the viewers to some other websites. It is called Bait and Switch Hacking.
The basic idea behind bait and switch hacking is to gain access to a high authority website and start publishing the content which the website isn’t normally meant to possess. As a matter of fact, the site owners might not even know for the time being that their website is being used for marketing the irrelevant content.
The only motive behind bait and switch hacking seems the avoidance of initiation of marketing process from the scratch. This is the reason that hackers find it easy to use the ranking factor of a website for the promotion of their content. The even worse scenario in this case is that hackers mostly inject other websites in the hacked website.
If take a brief look at the past, it would be evident that this spamming tactic had been in use. This technique was caught and penalized by Google; and it was evident from the fall in rankings for the websites which were involved in bait and switch hacking strategy.
This issue, however, arose again a couple of months ago, apparently as a result of consistent changes in Google’s algorithms. Hopefully it is a matter of time when Google comes to realize about this loophole and get it covered before it starts jeopardizing the search engine’s integrity. Therefore it is highly recommended to avoid black hat techniques for quick SERP because sooner or later, it will be hunt down. Not to forget, New Penguin Algorithm update will be released in 2016. Even though, Google has made a lot of changes to make sure that end-usrs will get best possible products including changes in Metrics in AdWords, there is still alot needs to be done. Hopefully in 2016, we will see those black hat techniques curmed by Google in an efficent way.
